How much is your right to self-confidence now? If you have yourself rated on a scale of 1 to 10 (1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10), with 1 being "very low confidence" and 10 "fully confident", how would you find rate?
Following my experience working with clients who are overweight, I guess if you are overweight and reading this article you will rate low on the scale. Overweight or obesity affects our realistic perception of ourselves and our abilities. The negative side effects of overweight can be found in your self-doubt, dependency, to take things too personally, lack of confidence, feelings of inferiority and being unloved and often irresponsible behavior, followed with severe self-criticism and low value.
Everyone wants to be confident. Everyone wants be free from self-doubt, worry and anxiety, everyone wants to ooze to the infectious appeal that comes with confidence in themselves and everyone wants to trust and believe in them. What should you change about yourself to have it all? Weight, I think, is the physical manifestation of what is the real question. I think the answer lies in the words of Ezra Taft Benson, "Some of the greatest battles take place within quiet room of your own soul. "
What is your fight? Are you willing to scare aside for the moment and challenge your demons?
Take the first step and change your life for good. Promise you will not be a victim of your weight from now and will. For now, call a friend, join a support group, ask about weight loss health, find a coach or talk to your family and friends, but get rid of your thinking centered on the victim and take care of your body, your mind and your soul.
Try something new. Watch your weight loss and the past history personal. Examine your habits and do not judge them, but see all this as an important part of the learning process. What you can do is to change habits and life from scratch from today. Focus on what you can do right now to succeed in your weight loss for good and take steps in that direction. Become your own best support and do the right thing. I'm willing to bet on the fact that you go further and higher along the level of self-confidence with every step. Finally, ask yourself these questions and act on them, whatever your answer may be:
What would I need to do to climb the ladder of self-confidence?
What would I need to change?
What can I do what I do not now?
That would be my first step necessary?
Putting aside the fear, you start to change and take the first step today.
